
RTMDx Analyst 1 Certification
This digital badge credential validates a foundational level of skills and experience with RTMDx software. Credential recipients must demonstrate a basic level of proficiency in applying Simsi products and capabilities for Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM) with RTMDx. This is achieved by (1) completing a series of training course sessions totaling 4 hours and (2) successfully running RTM analyses in RTMDx and communicating results verbally and in writing in actionable ways.
Credential holders are fluent in key Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM) terminology and have basic knowledge of common professional RTMDx use cases and the best-practices and procedures for using tools and functions in RTMDx. They must demonstrate basic abilities and confidence in interpreting and communicating RTM results and RTMDx outputs. They will be skilled in: Obtaining, preparing and managing data for use in RTMDx; Setting-up and running analyses; Analyzing multiple topic issues; Running analyses by time, date, sub-area, and other variables or filter options; Forming baseline risk narratives; Producing information with RTMDx that drives decision-making and actions; Drafting audience-appropriate written reports; Answering frequently-asked-questions; Discussing iterative processes for ongoing use of RTM analytics-to-action; Assessing changes and outcomes over time. Credential holders have skills necessary to use RTMDx software for risk-based policing, data-informed community engagement, crime prevention, public safety and public health programming, public administration, and city planning.
Applicants must have an active subscription to the RTMDx software, or be an authorized user within an organization that has an active subscription, and must have completed and passed an approved training program with both verbal and written exams.
